I was just in SF and bought this item. I have been interested in a hood, and thought this would be a good starter 'hood'. The way it is designed makes it easy to use by oneself. I am using it right now to explore sensory deprivation and exploring how depriving one sense enhances another. It was interesting to note that while wearing it one loses a sense of time. I also had a slight panic attack, and it was fun fighting through that and getting lost in a sense of timelessness.
One reviewer wanted to know if it blocks out sound and it When using ear phones or ear plugs, sound is completely gone.
This is a VERY affordable item. It is well constructed. I found the velcro tabs on the top of the head to be a little too long when I pull it tight. The leather is super soft and smells terrific. That's the odor that activates my balls! I love it. Maybe that's why I get lost in it. ; )

I purchased this mask well over a year ago and am still excited by it. It blocks the light so the boy is completely in the dark, and the padding around the eyes makes it comfortable on his face without putting pressure on his eyes. The look of it is exceptionally hot! With it cut under the nose like it is gives it a look far better than a simple blindfold...love it!

Has anyone been able to modify this or add anything so the mask blocks sound as well as sight? I'd love to have something where the wearer isn't able to see or hear anything around him, but without being a full hood--I like that with this item his mouth is totally free and available.
